LA CASA DE DIOS
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. –Jeremiah 29:11
Raising the funds to build a new church home for La Casa de Dios has been quite difficult. Why? Maybe because it is a small and humble church with hardworking families? or because it is a church that proclaims the truth of the word of God without fear? I don’t have the answer, but one thing I know: We need people who are willing to give freely and wholeheartedly to help build our church.
As I think about the need to build our church I am reminded of what I once wrote to my brother while he was in medical school:
I want to remind you to keep your eyes on the Lord, don’t let yourself be troubled by anything, remain faithful and obedient, with a humble heart and a serving attitude with serving hands to go along with it. Remember what God has called you to, serve the least of these. But you need to remember that it begins at home. He wants to see how faithful we are with the little bit he’s given us. We have a church to build, our home plate. In baseball your start is at home plate, travel through all the bases and end up right back at home plate. Abraham didn’t know what lay ahead as he pressed forward to the promise. Faith pushed him on, he knew whatever was ahead had to be good and he remained obedient and faithful with every step he took.
Serving, guiding, loving, feeding, clothing, counseling, ministering, comforting, understanding- it all begins at home. This is the work of La Casa de Dios through its leaders and members, a church not rich in money but rich in love and mercy for others. God has building plans for our church, we know that whatever lies ahead has to be good and we will remain obedient and faithful with every step we take… SEE OUR BUILDNG PROJECT & READ MORE ABOUT OUR CHURCH
